Summer Camp Programs are a fun and exciting way to experience China without the
commitment of a long-term teaching contract. If you are seeking short-term
International Culture Exchange, Language Immersion, Travel & Adventure or pursuing a TEFL
Internship, this program is for you.
We have been operating summer programs in China for ten years. Summer programs are intensive. Our goal is
to help young Chinese students with accent reduction, enhancing English vocabulary and fostering deeper understanding,
of each others culture.
Who Can Apply?
Teachers, Student Teachers, College Students, Working Professionals and High School Seniors in
good Academic Standing with the permission of their parents, and anyone seeking an exciting change of life,
willing to share the gift of their language while learning Chinese. You must be culturally sensitive and tolerant
to schedule changes and other last minute notifications as these things are quite common from your Chinese hosts.
Do We Get Paid?
The type of short-term travel visa you are issued does not allow you to be paid.
The Chinese government has made it abundantly clear that unless you are a teacher already working in China with a work visa,
getting paid while traveling on a tourist visa is illegal. Short-term summer programs are non-renumerated.
The time and cost involved in the application of a work visa is reserved for long-term teacher contracts of at least one year.
The total cost of tours, lodging, Chinese language lessons, meals and other features are supplemented by your volunteer effort. A small stipend is often rewarded for good performance. Journeyeast teachers
already working in China on long-term contracts can receive salary
for their participation in the summer program.
Are There Other Costs?
Click here For a full list of program Features. The general cost of the program includes your international flight from LAX, however you must get yourself to Los Angeles the day before departure in order to participate in pre-trip orientation. We will take care of your hotel room for that night and a catered meal during the orientation event.
Travelers who are not covered internationally under their current medical policy must illustrate that they have purchased a TravelEx Travel & Medical Insurance Policy that covers them for the duration of their stay in China.
