I am travelling abroad before the summer program, Can I fly into China from where I am?
No. In fact, depending on when you are travelling abroad you may not have time for us to process the appropriate visa for you to enter China. The invitations sent by the school can often arrive just days before the scheduled departure. Therefore, it is not recommended to travel before your summer trip.

Do I get reimbursed for my flight to China?
If your contract is for less than ten months, there is no airfare reimbursement.

I'm already in China, do I have to pay a fee to use your program?
No. There is no fee for teachers who are already in China that are legally employed. You must have a valid residence permit obtained from a previous Z-Visa, be in good standing with your current employer, and be able to provide us with a letter of release from your current employer.

Do I have to speak Chinese to do this program?
No, You do not need to speak or understand Chinese. There will be Chinese English teachers with reasonable proficiency available to help with your transition to living in China. A Chinese tutor is also available in the first three months.

I want to apply with a friend, how far in advance should we apply?
If you intend to both work and live on the same school campus it is important to apply as far in advance as possible. Both parties must be committed to the program equally. Because of the additional work involved in securing placement together there are additional restrictions on withdrawing from the program.

If I take a TEFL course, does that qualify me for the TEFL Instructor discount?
Unless you have 2-Years of teaching experience on a TEFL Certificate, you will not qualify for the Certified TEFL Teacher Travel Discounts.

If you possess a well recognized TEFL certificate than you shouldn't have a problem finding a job whether native or non-native speaker. Non-native speakers who fail to enroll in a well recognized TEFL certification program can still find employment but may find considerable challenges to obtaining working permits and visas.

How long does it take to obtain a TEFL Certificate?
Most quality well recognized TEFL certificate programs take only 4 weeks if you do the intensive coursework. Other courses can be done part-time over, say, a year or 18 months. You will also see some courses that take less than 4 weeks, but they may not be accepted by all employers.
